Disclosures in terms of section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECTA”).

Nature of the service

Stok-Vel is a savings app for South African stokvels — a subscription application that helps a stokvel, savings club, grocery stokvel or burial society manage its members, contribution schedules, records, ledgers and payouts.

Stok-Vel is not a bank, deposit-taking institution, or financial services provider, and does not hold or control stokvel member funds. See our Terms of Service for full details.

Pricing

No subscription fee is currently charged. Stok-Vel is free to use while we onboard our first stokvels, and no group is being billed for the Platform.

If a subscription fee is introduced, prices will be displayed on the Platform before purchase and you will receive clear notice beforehand. All prices are in South African Rand and include VAT where applicable.

Payment

Subscription payments are processed securely by Peach Payments, a South African payment service provider. We do not store your full card details.

Cooling-off right (section 44 of ECTA)

Where applicable, you may cancel an online subscription within 7 days of the transaction without reason or penalty, and receive a refund of amounts paid, less the value of services already used. To exercise this right, email support@stok-vel.co.za.

Complaints

Complaints may be directed to support@stok-vel.co.za. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and resolve them within a reasonable time.
